SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) – Kids in Springdale have embraced their inner nerds this week at the Nerdies Summer Camp.

The program offers third, fourth, and fifth-grade students the chance to geek out by building robots and creating video games.

Nerdies Camp ended today with a show-and-tell presentation to parents at Westwood Elementary School.

Executive director David Kersey says the camp is at the crossroads of work and play.

“I think they get to have fun. They get introduced to software. They get introduced to programming. They get introduced to robotics,” said Kersey. “It’s an opportunity to give them a picture into what’s possible for them.”

Nerdies is hosting sessions all summer across Northwest Arkansas.
