Adena to host free robotics expo on June 15

CHILLICOTHE – Adena Health System is hosting a free, community Robotics Expo, where people can discover how the latest technology in joint replacement surgery is helping patients.

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Brian Cohen will offer a special presentation on Adena’s robot-assisted surgical option for total knee, partial knee and total hip replacement. Free knee and hip screenings will be available during the expo.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 15 in the PAACCAR Medical Education Center at 446 Hospital Road in Chillicothe.

CCSD Class of 1949 to hold 70th class reunion

CHILLICOTHE – Chillicothe High School Class of 1949 will celebrate their 70th class reunion at 1 p.m. June 21 at the Chillicothe Country Club, 800 Arch Street.

Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant “A-Plant” 65th-anniversary picnic event

LATHAM – The Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, or the “A-Plant” as the locals refer to it, broke ground on November 18, 1952. The plant produced enriched uranium for the U.S. nuclear weapons program from 1954 until 2001. This site celebrates its 65th anniversary this year.

Nuclear Care Partners invites former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, or A-Plant, workers to celebrate 65 years at the upcoming A-Plant 65th Anniversary Picnic. In commemoration of the anniversary, the picnic will be held at Long’s Retreat Family Resort, the site of A-plant’s company picnics when it was in full operation. Former workers are invited to celebrate, reminisce, and reconnect with other former workers at this free picnic.

The A-Plant 65th Anniversary Picnic is free to all former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant workers and will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. The picnic will take place at Long’s Retreat Family Resort located at 50 Bell Hollow Road in Latham, Ohio. Former workers can RSVP to reserve their seat by calling 740-250-2291.
