Westmoreland County seems to be raking in the wins this year. There was much fanfare at last week’s School Board  meeting when Director for Career & Technical Education, Justin Savoy hopped up to the lectern to inform those gathered that Jasmin Neal, a student of W&L High School and the Northern Neck Technical Center, had made it into the top three at the state-level Skills USA competition, which is no easy feat by any means.

“Working with a partner in the category of Urban Search & Rescue Robotics, she had to create a robot similar to what is used by emergency personnel,” Savoy explained.
