Though the name sounds foreign, technically, the machine is entirely made in Kerala including its software and hardware.
If you think that robotics is a monopoly of genius people in foreign countries, you are wrong. Four young men in Thrissur have developed a desi robot entirely from Kerala. Inker Alten is its name. Though the name sounds foreign, technically, the machine is entirely made in Kerala including its software and hardware.
Brains behind the robot are Benson Thomas George, Rahul P V, Anurag K Ayyar and Shabir Khader. Three of the entrepreneurs are IT professionals and the fourth one is a post graduate in history. The robot was born at Inker Robotics Pvt Ltd, an enterprise established by them in Thrissur. It was developed using the TD printing technology.
The robot is 4.5 feet high and weighs 14 kg. This could be monitored and controlled from a remote location and is capable to welcome and serve drinking water to the visitors in the office.
The new project has got an order from a school abroad, said the inventors of the machine.
