Salem Quakers Robotics

The Salem Quakers Robotics team will hold a fundraiser at Coaches Burger Bar from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mention the fundraiser and Coaches will donate 15 percent of the dine-in sales to the team.

East Palestine Eagles

East Palestine Eagles, 320 Taggart St., will hold their monthly drive thru from 4 to 6 p.m. or sold out Wednesday. The dinner is sirloin tips over noodles with coleslaw, roll and dessert for $10, or $9 if over 65 years old. To guarantee a meal call 330-853-8483.

Summer Day Camp

Family Recovery Center’s Education Department will hold a three-day summer day camp at the Columbiana Metropolitan Housing Authority’s Independence Square location for children in Wellsville and surrounding communities from 10 a.m. to noon today through Friday. The event will offer children fun and unique experiences with an opportunity for social emotional development, to meet new friends, discover new interests and create summer memories.

The Family Recovery Center’s Education Department will have prevention educators on site to meet children at the Independence Square playground. Although activities are geared to elementary and preschool ages, children of all ages are welcome.

Free games, activities and snacks will be offered to all children in attendance.

“This is an exciting and fun way for our prevention educators to stay active and involved with the children in our community during the summer. Typically they are implementing the Aiming High prevention education curriculum in the classroom during the school year and this offers them a way to stay connected with the children during the summer months,” says Joe Rawson, director of education and prevention services at Family Recovery Center.

Efforts are funded by the Columbiana County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, and no preregistration is needed.

Family Movie Night

Salem Parks and Recreation will hold another “Family Movie Night” at 9:10 p.m. Saturday at the Orashan Memorial Civic Center (also known as the Band Shell) in Waterworth Memorial Park. The feature film will be “The War With Grandpa” (2 hrs, 21min; PG). Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Free popcorn will be available from the Parks Department. Salem First Christian Church will be giving out free water and chips. Bring other drinks and snacks if desired; alcoholic beverages are not permitted on park property. Project Appleseed

Project Appleseed returns to The Salem Hunting Club Saturday and Sunday for a full weekend of history, heritage and rifle fundamentals. This is open to the public and mature kids are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. Individuals interested in only attending one day are encouraged to come Saturday. Lowell Iden Memorial Scholarship

The Salem Hunting Club will host The Lowell Iden Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser Aug. 7, with four $500 scholarships awarded throughout the day. The event will feature all you can eat breakfast, lunch, trap shooting all day, gift basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle for $5. Doors open at 7 a.m. and breakfast ends at 11 a.m. Lunch will immediately follow. Trap starts around 9 a.m. and is $5 per round. All proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund. Concealed Carry Class

The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club, 131 Gas Valley Road, Georgetown, Pa. (just past Oak Glen High School between WV Route 8 and Pa Route 168) will hold a CCW concealed carry class at 9 a.m. July 31 with an NRA certified instructor. The class is good for Ohio and West Virginia residents (West Virginia resident permits are reciprocal with Ohio and Pennsylvania. Grant Street Church

The Grant Street Church officially opens its doors Monday, Aug. 23 with a seven-day revival.

According to its overseer Cecenya Douglas, she has been working on a total renovation of the former Church of God building, which is located at 431 Grant St.

The revival, called the Seven Churches of Asia, will begin every night at 7 p.m. More information will be forthcoming about that event.

Currently, the church is operating Malachi’s Closet, which is a clothing ministry for all tri-state area residents, and hosting its discussion night at 6 p.m. every Friday. For anyone needing further information about Malachi’s Closet, contact 304-919-0961.

East Palestine Nazarene VBS

East Palestine Nazarene Church will host “Outlaws for God” VBS from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 through 6 for children ages 4 through 11. Registration beings at 5 p.m. Aug. 2. The VBS will include stories, crafts, games, snacks, music and skits.
