Robotics has been around for quite some time. There have been small robots for people to assemble, program and operate all the way up to the manufacturing robots that move heavy things during the manufacturing process. Simply incredible.
Well, now we are moving into the next phase here in 2020. The Amy Robot. If you have not seen this robot in action, check the video out at the end of the article. It is quite amazing. Some of the key points that I took away from the manufacturer’s presentation of the Amy Robot are as follows:
- Speech Interaction: Precise voice recognition makes communicating easier
- Telepresence: Boundless connection with anyone through voice command control
- Autonomous Navigation: Automatic obstacle avoidance and quick response
- Home Automation: Environment perception and voice control
- SDK: Enables users to integrate other software and develop their own functionality on demand
- Cloud Platform Service: Big data connection and analysis
Some key industries that are prime for the Amy Robot are:
- Healthcare:
- Multiple patients can be monitored at the same time
- Works 24/7
- Alert caregivers on accidents
- Shares info among caregivers
- Basic question and answers in place of caregivers when they are not available
- Remote family physician
- Hospital Medical Application:
- Ability to route and deliver medication, supplies and other critical items to many rooms on the hospital floor
- Information Service:
- Work as receptionist at airports, hotels, shopping malls, banks and exhibit halls
- Education:
- Teach Artificial Intelligence subjects in schools and science/technology museums
- Work as substitute teachers when a teacher is not available or has called out
So, as you can see, there are many existing applications for the Amy Robot, but there are so many more out there waiting to be created/developed. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
